Trend-in-trend variant (Ji ECC et al, Pharmacoepidemiol Drug Saf 2017) is an advanced extension that exploits cross-region covariance between exposure-trend and outcome-trend — useful when a policy interruption affects exposure unevenly across AsPEN sites. If you ticked "Trend-in-trend" in Section 6 above, the protocol will include a methods stub describing this design; consider spinning it off into its own protocol if the trend-in-trend logic is the central analytic question.
